Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Okay, it’s a little crazy. That’s because they are so busy, and THAT’S because the food is incredible. Every dish was amazing, every mouthful a new delight. Their carciofo alla gudía is the best I’ve ever had. Yes, it’s noisy. Who cares? Not to be missed."
"We stopped in for a quick bite and ordered a few simple dishes. The food was good and nicely prepared — the house appetizers were enjoyable, and the house wine paired well with the meal. The service was friendly and efficient, which made it a convenient place for a short stop. Overall, a positive experience; we would happily return if we are in the area again."
"I got the artichoke and the lamb ribs. The food came very quickly. The artichoke was really good I loved it. The ribs were okay, they needed more seasoning but they were not bad, and they were expensive. Overall, The place is clean and the staff is nice."
"⸻ This restaurant was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The staff was warm and welcoming, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, which made dining outdoors especially enjoyable. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by — it’s a fantastic spot for a great meal and a relaxed, pleasant outing."
"Our first kosher meal. Food was good, except for the cod fish that was on salty side. We loved the fried artichokes. Glad we had our New Year Eve dinner here."
"We loved everything about Nonna Betta - the food is to die for (anything with carciofi is amazing!), the service is friendly and very helpful, the location is very central, in an area taken under assault by tourists, but unlike other restaurants including some nearby, this place stands out for genuine food with recipes passed down along generations. The real thing! We had a carciofi alla giudia each (probably the best I've ever tasted!), the tonnarelli with carciofi and beef (an interesting take on the original recipe), and a parmigiana di carciofi which was superlative in every way! Topped off with a very good Cabernet Sauvignon, finishing off with some traditional desserts. We're already planning on when we get to return, as there are quite a few other options on the menu we're dying to try out! Look no further if you visit this part of Rome. It's simply great in every way"
"This place is outrageously delicious! Rome has some amazing restaurants and this is a must try spot. I had the best cod dish I’ve ever had in my life. Came out pipping hot and they also gave me some bread on the side which was perfect to accompany the dish. I hope they never change their menu and stay true to the authentic and delicious roots. It was worth the trip ! Thank you!!"
"This place is such a gem. Had a selection of appetizers and gricia. Hands down the best fried artichokes I ever tried in Rome. Extra points for the homemade pasta, which was not on my bingo card - and was delicious. Can’t recommend more!"
